Apple visionOS 1.0.3 released recently for the Password Reset

Apple has recently started rolling out the latest visionOS 1.0.3 patch update for the Vision Pro headset with some improvements. Well, it also became the first-ever software update for Apple Vision Pro since the headset was released on February 2, 2024, that comes with visionOS out of the box. As the visionOS 1.0.3 update hits the shelves for the Vision Pro headset, you can be able to reset the forgotten password quite easily from now on.

Before the release of this headset, Apple had already pushed the visionOS 1.0.1 patch update and the visionOS 1.0.2 patch update that includes multiple bug fixes or improvements. The much-awaited Apple Vision Pro headset was shipped with visionOS 1.0.2 initially. But with this latest patch release, multiple critics & consumers have pointed out that they can now reset the headset password.

Apple visionOS 1.0.3 released recently for the Password Reset

Previously, the unfortunate users weren’t able to reset the Vision Pro password if they somehow forgot it. Fortunately, Apple quickly responded to this issue and it has been resolved right now. Apple Release Notes stated the following line that you can find useful:

“This update provides important bug fixes and adds an option to reset your device if you’ve forgotten your passcode.”

With ‌the release of the visionOS‌ 1.0.3 patch update, Apple includes an option to wipe out the data from the Vision Pro headset to reset the forgotten password yourself. This specific update also brings fixes to some other unspecified bugs that will come in handy.

As per the report by GSMArena, previously you could only reset the Apple headset by bringing the same to the official or authorised Apple Store. In addition, a special $300 Developer Strap option was also available under the Apple Developer Program to reset the headset.

If there is no physical store available at your nearest location, affected users will have to ship the headset to Apple Support to get it fixed. However, both of the methods were a bit inconvenient for most of the Vision Pro users. But not anymore.

Luckily, if your headset passcode is rejected multiple times, you’ll see an option to reset the Vision Pro headset with the visionOS 1.0.3 patch update. Well, users can easily install this latest update to visionOS‌ from Settings > Software Update.

Do keep in mind that even after resetting your Apple Vision Pro, it won’t remove the Activation Lock. Hence, even if your headset gets stolen or lost, the Activation Lock will prevent a third person or a thief from logging in with another Apple ID. Well, this is a big relief for the worried Vision Pro users.
