- In the Threads app, you need to tap on the profile icon in the bottom navigation bar
- After that, tap on the hamburger menu
- Tap on “Account” before pressing the “Other accounts settings” option
- Now, you need to tap on “See more in accounts center”
- In the screen that pops up, you need to tap on “Personal Details”
- After that, tap on “Account ownership and control” before tapping on “Deactivation or Deletion”
- Choose the Instagram account associated with the Threads account
- Select the “Delete Account” option and then tap “Continue”
- Mention the reason for deleting your account and then tap on “Continue”
- Now, enter your password before tapping on “Continue”
- Confirm your account deletion required by selecting the “Delete account” option
Your account will get deleted within 30 days. Once the process is finished, Meta will delete your Threads account and Instagram account.
How to deactivate Threads account?
Since deleting your Threads account needs you to get rid of your Instagram account too, you might want to deactivate your Threads account as well. Here is how to deactivate Threads account –
- In the Threads app, you’ll need to tap on your profile icon present at the bottom navigation bar
- Then, tap on the hamburger menu
- After that, tap on “Account” and tap on “Deactivate profile”
- Now, you should tap on “Deactivate Threads Profile” on the next screen and it’ll be done
