After a recent Play Store ban on call recording apps, customers found refuge in the OEM phone apps, which allowed them to record calls. However, in recent years, OEMs like Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, etc. started using the Google phone app. The Google phone app allowed them to record calls, but it also announced to the other person in the call that the call was being recorded.
Call recording may or may not be necessary in daily life, but there are a few instances where we may need to record calls for various reasons in a discreet manner.
So in this article, we will guide you on how to disable the announcement of call recording in a few simple steps. Before proceeding, check your regional laws regarding the legality of call recording.
Step 1: Go to the Play Store and search for the Phone app, then uninstall any updates.
Step 2: And now, search for TTSLexx and install it.
Step 3: Go to settings and search for “text to speech output.”
Step 4: Select TTSLexx and tap OK to save your selection.
Step 5: Go to the app info of the phone app by tapping on the icon for 2–3 seconds, and then proceed to storage and cache.
Step 6: Clear the cache and then clear storage.
Alternatively, if you have an Oppo or OnePlus phone, you can download ODialer from the Play Store. It’s an OEM phone app from Oppo. It can record calls without announcing them over the call.
And this is it. Now you can record calls without announcing them on your calls.
If you want to disable this, you have to follow the same steps, except in the third step, instead of selecting TTSLexx, you need to choose Speech Services by Google.
