Download Android 14 Beta update for Pixel smartphones

It is that time of the year when Google releases public beta builds for the upcoming beta version. Earlier, Google had already released multiple preview builds of Android 14 and recently, it has also come out with the first public beta. This will allow the beta testers and third-party app developers to start their Android 14 journey. If you own a Pixel smartphone, then this guide will be of great help to you. In this guide, you will get to know how to download the Android 14 public beta factory image and OTA image for Pixel smartphones.

Roadmap to the Android 14 public build

Google will be following the same pattern for releasing the developer and beta builds. The roadmap begins in February with the first developer preview and ends in August with the release of the stable public build. The timeline for the stable build might change depending on how quickly the developers get rid of the bugs. As per the current roadmap, there are scheduled to be two developer previews and four public beta releases. This means that one update per month is scheduled before the stable release.

Changelog for the Android 14 beta update

If you’re looking to find out what’s new, then you will get to know that here. The first developer preview build of Android 14 did not bring any major changes but there are definitely a few small changes for improving the usage of your Pixel device.

The first beta of Android 14 has brought along different Battery Settings, which now come with two modes for battery saver. The users will have the option to choose between basic battery saver and extreme battery safer. It was available previously as well but the users first had to enable the basic battery saver to get the extreme battery saver option.

The other changes in this beta update include a Privacy Dashboard, Security, a Fast Pair option, the return of screen time usage, the latest Security Patch, and more.
