FuntouchOS 12: Eligible Devices, Features and Release Date

Smartphone manufactures including Vivo, have started working to bring their latest custom skin based on the Android 12. Google will reportedly release the stable Android 12 version next week, and that’s the time when smartphone manufacturers step up to release the Android 12 beta program. Vivo has already confirmed the arrival of FuntouchOS 12, based on Android 12 through a poster on official website.

FuntouchOS skin comes with great set of features with lots of customizations. And, we can expect the Chinese smartphone maker to make the newer skin loaded with new features, customizations, and optimizations. In addition to the FuntouchOS 12 features, there will be a hole bunch of new features from Android 12 including the Material You design, privacy dashboard, and a bunch of privacy related features.

FuntouchOS 12 Features

The complete list of new changes is yet to be announced, however Vivo has teased several new features through a FuntouchOS page on its official website. It shows that new FuntouchOS skin will bring a redesigned Quick panel, which is much similar to the OriginOS skin, which Vivo mainly uses in its phones launched in the mainland, China.

The FuntouchOS 12 skin will include a nano music player on the home screen. It will also users to quickly switch between favorite music apps. Another notable change in the new FuntouchOS skin is the addition of RAM expansion feature, also known as virtual RAM. It helps in better multitasking. There will be a bunch of new features/optimizations/changes which are yet to be revealed. Plus, Android 12 will bring its core features such as Material You, new privacy dashboard, and new widgets. With Android 12, there will be a small icon when any app is using camera or location. This way, you will be informed if any app using camera, microphone, or location in the background.

FuntouchOS 12 Release Date

Google is expected to release the stable Android 12 in the next week. So, we can expect Vivo to start rolling out beta build for some new flagship phones by the end of the month. If the company follows last year pattern, then stable FuntouchOS 12 rollout should start in the Q4 2021.
