Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 8 receiving August 2021 security update

Samsung is speeding the rollout of August 2021 security patch. It has already been rolled out to a bunch of Galaxy phones including the Galaxy A52, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy Note 20. Now, it’s time for Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 8 to receive the newest security update.

Samsung is rolling out the August 2021 security update to the Galaxy S10 Lite users in Spain. It can be identified by firmware version G770FXXS5EUG5. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 8 is receiving its new update in Spain and the UK with firmware version N950FXXSGDUG6.

The new software update does not bring anything more than just a new security patch. As mentioned in Samsung’s documentation, the August 2021 security patch fixes 40 vulnerabilities to improve system security and privacy.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 8 users in the specified region have started receiving the new OTA update. As always, it may take a few days to reach all the units. You can manually check for the new update on your Galaxy phone by navigating to Settings >> Software updates

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has recently completed its 4 year anniversary. It’s good to see that the company is taking good care of such old devices. Galaxy S10 Lite was released last year running Android 10 OS. Thanks to the one major upgrade, the phone is currently running Android-11 OS. Also, the phone is eligible to receive Android 12
