Like every year, Google finally released its first developer preview of Android 15 as a successor to the previous generation Android 14 on February 16, 2024. We have come through a first glimpse of the upcoming major Android OS version that brings plenty of new features, improvements, minor adjustments with the UI, etc. Meanwhile, reports are coming out that Google allows Keyboard Vibration on Android 15 to easily turn on and off manually.
It seems that Google has made a couple of changes for a better user experience. The new Keyboard Vibration toggle allows users to manually turn on and off on Android 15 DP1 or later versions.
You can head over to Settings > Sound & Vibration > Vibration & Haptics > Keyboard Vibration to disable keyboard haptics while typing. It looks like a similar option was spotted earlier in Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 By Android Police contributor Mishaal Rahman. And now it’s finally included.
However, the best part is that Google has added this feature enabled by default as an integral part of Android 15 DP1. Recently, Android expert @MishaalRahman posted on X about the vibration & haptics on Android 15 Developer Preview 1. You can check out the info below.
Android 15 DP1 has a new "keyboard vibration" toggle under Settings → Sound & vibration → Vibration & haptics that disables haptics in your keyboard app. I first revealed this in the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 release, but it's now enabled by default. pic.twitter.com/vFhsUxCh6N

The vibration of the keyboard feature is minor but useful enough for plenty of users while typing the on-screen keyboard (touch feedback). This can be done via Settings > System > Keyboard > On-screen keyboard to toggle for third-party keyboard applications too.

As this option isn’t linked to any specific keyboard app, it will eventually disable the keyboard vibration automatically even if any other keyboard app comes with haptics. In case, you want to use the haptics while typing, you can disable the vibration feature manually from the device settings menu.
