Honor July 2020 Security Patch Tracker

The Chinese OEM Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor also offers a pretty good budget and mid-budget segment Android smartphones at a very competitive price tag. One thing that needs to be appreciated that all the Huawei/Honor devices come with very attractive designs and better cameras. Previously, all the Honor devices running on EMUI skin but Huawei has separated the official skin for the Honor models and now Honor devices are running on Magic UI. Recently, Honor has released the July 2020 security patch for its couple of devices. You can check out the device list below.

The security patch update is rolling out via OTA in batches and will take some days or more in order to arrive on all the eligible Honor units completely according to the region or carrier. We always recommend users to update the security patch version, if available. It basically brings the latest fixes for security vulnerabilities.

Additionally, the security patch updates also offer improved system security and performance with stability. Now, talking about the Honor devices, the smartphone brand includes CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). The July 2020 Android Security Patch Level fixes a major security vulnerability in the System component that could enable a remote attacker by using a specially crafted file within the context of a privileged process to execute arbitrary code.

The latest July 2020 Android Security Patch Level by Honor brings the different levels of vulnerability fixes that were present within the Huawei devices running EMUI 9/EMUI 10 respectively. It includes 5 critical and 9 high levels of CVEs. There were no Medium or Low CVEs found in the latest security bulletin.
