Honor Play 9A starts picking up the October 2021 security patch via the latest software update package. It bumps the Magic UI software version from 3.1.0.189 to 3.1.0.190.
According to the changelog shared by Huaweiupdate, the new OTA update does not bring any other changes, apart from the October 2021 security patch. The security patch fixes 1 Critical, 27 High, and 2 Medium levels of CVE’s (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) to improve the system security and privacy.
Honor Play 9A was released last year with Android 10-based Magic UI 3.0. It is a pocket-friendly phone that has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel, Helio P35 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. The phone features 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and an 8MP selfie shooter. Honor Play 9A packs a 5,000mAh battery with no support for fast charging.
The device has now started receiving the October 2021 security update. Users who have not received it yet can manually check the status by heading to Settings >> System >> Software update >> Check for new updates. Another way to check for the new updates is through the Support app. Navigate to Support app >> Services >> Update >> Check for updates.
