Microsoft rolls out the new Windows 11 Insider Build 22623.1028 Update

The first Windows 11 Insider Build has started rolling out and it is dubbed the 22623.1028 update. The new Windows 11 Insider Build 22623.1028 has arrived on the beta channel and it comes with numerous bug fixes, marking the start of Bug Bash for Insiders. This update is a part of the weekly updates for Windows 11, which usually addresses bugs and occasionally brings in new features.

Changelog for the new Windows 11 Insider build

Similar to the previous Windows 11 Updates to the beta channel, there are multiple builds available to Insiders. The first build 22623.1028 will bring in all the fixes and changes whereas the other build 22621.1028 has a few fixes and limited changes. This week’s beta update comes with some bug fixes. Microsoft has addressed major bugs like Explorer.exe crashing, Task Manager bugs, taskbar and system tray issues, and more.

The issue with explorer.exe crashing repeatedly in safe mode has been resolved.  The issue where the sleep recommendation sometimes being inconsistent has been fixed too. The Task Manager now comes in light and dark options and displays correctly with their mode set to Custom. The issue affecting the games and application has been fixed too. It was related to the GPU performance debugging features, which was lowering the expected game performance.

How to download and install the Windows 11 Insider Build 22623.1028 update

If you are a part of the Windows 11 Insider in the beta channel, you’ll be receiving the update. If you are on the Build 22622, then your system would be updated to Build 22623 automatically. If it is updated automatically, you’ll be able to check for it manually by heading over to Settings -> Windows Update. After that, click on check for updates and it will show the latest build that you can download and install on your PC.
