October 2023 updates released for Verizon Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Tab S8+ in the US.

Just last month, more devices were added to receive the One UI 5.1.1 update, and the One UI 6 beta updates were also rolled out to more Galaxy devices. In addition, the latest security patch for Galaxy devices was released and is being made available to more devices.

The Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Tab S8+ are now receiving the October 2023 security update. This update includes over 40 fixes, including 34 from Google that address various Android OS issues, and 12 unique fixes from Samsung.

In addition to security enhancements, the October 2023 update may also improve device performance and stability. It is recommended that you update your devices to the latest version to ensure they are running optimally and to address any known issues.

For the Galaxy S20 series, here are the firmware version numbers to look for: G981VSQS7HWI2 for the Galaxy S20, G986USQS7HWI2 for the S20+, and G988USQS7HWI2 for the S20 Ultra.

If your Galaxy S20 series or Galaxy Tab S8+ is connected to Verizon in the US, updating your device is easy. Just go to settings, choose software update, click on “Download and Install,” and if there’s a new update available, click on the “Download” button.
