OPPO launches self-developed mobile chip, code-named “Mariana Project/Plan”

There were rumours that Oppo was developing a self-developed mobile chipset, but Oppo never accepted nor denied it. The company, last time had mentioned about the “Mariana Project” in its internal documents.

Now there are reports that the Special Assistant to the CEO of OPPO has shared an internal note to all the employees of the group which reveal “Mariana Plan” for the self-developed chips from the Chinese company.

This is one of the most ambitious projects of the company and was provided with input and support from the OPPO TMG Technical Committee, which was established in October last year. This is a big project, so many technicians from Realme and OnePlus have also joined the core-team.
