How to download and install OxygenOS 12 on OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro

OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro users have been enjoying several exciting updates recently. In the last few weeks, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 users received Android 12-based ColorOS 12 stable via OTA. Now, OnePlus has started rolling out the Android 12-based stable OxygenOS 12 update. November saw OnePlus starting the Beta Testing program of OxygenOS 12 update for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Now, the OnePlus 9 lineup is set to receive the stable update.

Naturally, as with most new updates, even the OxygenOS 12 update is filled with many cool features and UI tweaks. This update will greatly improve the user experience on your OnePlus 9 and OnePlus   Pro and will be rolled out with a size of 4.04GB. You will be able to update your device to OxygenOS 12 right away by downloading the OTA update. Click on the Settings -> System -> System Updates, and then tap the button located at the top and select Local Upgrade. Browse to the download package for installing the update.

The update will come with many new design elements and animations. Meanwhile, OnePlus has updated the app icons with some new textures, containing designs inspired by brand-new material and uniting layers and lights. There is also a Work-Life Balance feature, which will allow the user to switch between Work and Life modes using a Quick Setting. You’ll be able to customize each mode with app-specific notification settings. The modes can be triggered by time, location, or Wi-Fi network.

The stable OxygenOS 12 update will come with build number OxygenOS 12.0.0.0 for all users. It will come with several new features, including OnePlus 9 dark mode that supports three adjustable levels, including a new self-section, and more. Currently, this update is only available for India, Europe, and a few other regions but OnePlus is set to roll out the stable build of OxygenOS 12 for more updates and more regions in the coming days and weeks.
