POCO F2 Pro global variant gets Android 12 (MIUI 13) update

Xiaomi has started rolling out the Android 12 based MIUI 12 update to POCO F2 Pro users globally. This is a surprise for the customers, as there was no announcement about the device on Google’s recently-confirmed Android 12 rollout plan for the global variant.

POCO F2 Pro was released in early 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. The official MIUI 12 – Android 12 update for Poco F2 Pro is labelled V13.0.1.0.SJKMIXM, and requires users to download the package, which is around 3.3 GB in size, manually via the following link If they don’t want to wait for OTA deployment.

The Android 12 update for POCO F2 Pro comes with the MIUI 13 skin at the top. The update brings performance improvements, RAM optimizations, and File storage system optimizations, and improves the overall experience. It is a major upgrade, and therefore, you’ll need to spend a big chunk of data, 3.3 GB to be precise. To download such a large size update, it is recommended to have a stable Wi-Fi connection.

In terms of the Android 12 rollout, Xiaomi F2 Pro has started getting traction in the worldwide market. It’s likely to be deployed in a phased manner, so it might take a few days for all users to receive it. To check manually for new upgrades, go to Settings > About phone > MIUI logo and look for new updates.

You can also download the latest package using this link. But keep in mind that manually installing the package could be a slightly riskier method, which we don’t recommend.
