July 2021 security update for Realme 8 brings RAM expansion feature and several fixes

Last week, Realme 8 Pro started receiving the July 2021 security patch, and now it’s time for the vanilla Realme 8 to get the update. The new software update for Realme 8 brings more than just July 2021 security patch.

According to the official community post, the new OTA update for Realme 8 brings the RAM expansion feature. For those unaware, this new feature takes some part of the device’s internal memory to act like RAM. It does not bring major performance upgrades, but it helps in achieving better multitasking.

Realme has fixed the scroll bar disappearing issue in File Manager. The update also fixes the “screen would flicker when you rotate the screen to view photos shot with the screen locked”. The image editing issue on third-party apps is also getting a fix. Realme 8’s new OTA update also optimizes system performance and improves system stability.
