Finally, Google has released the much-awaited Android 11 OS officially to its eligible Pixel series devices. Meanwhile, some of the other smartphone brands are also enlisted to the Android 11 Developer Preview program but no other non-Pixel devices currently running on the stable Android 11 version yet. Although Google has uploaded the Android 11 source code to AOSP and released the Android 11 GSI build for the Project Treble compatible devices. So, all the interested Android 8.0 Oreo or higher version running device users can easily flash the GSI build to start using Android 11 right now. To recall, Realme X2 is still one of the popular and mid-budget segment smartphones under the Realme brand. It came with Android 9.0 Pie with the ColorOS 6 UI and then things have changed a lot due to the Realme UI skin which was launched last year based on ColorOS 7 (Android 10). According to the released Realme UI 2.0 early access timeline, Realme has mentioned that the Realme X2 will receive the early access program in Q1 2021. It means in the first quarter of 2021 and as there is no specific month or week mentioned yet, we will have to wait for a couple of weeks or months to receive more in-depth information on it.
It’s also worth mentioning that Realme always offers two major Android OS updates to its devices and the Realme X2 has only received the one major Android OS update (Android 10). So, the Android 11 update will be the last one for Realme X2. However, we can expect that the company can continue pushing the bug fixes and security patch updates to Realme X2 in the form of Realme UI 2.0.
