Redmi Y3 was launched back in 2019 with Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10 skin at the top. The device later got MIUI 10 update but the Android version remains the same. The Redmi Y3 is now receiving its first major OS upgrade in the form of Android 10.
In addition to Android 10, the update also bumps the Android monthly security patch to January 2021. The latest update for Redmi Y3 is rolling out in India with firmware version V11.0.5.0.QFFINXM.
Back in December, Xiaomi announced that Redmi Y3 along with some other devices will not get MIUI 12 update due to compatibility issues. Coming back to the latest update, it is currently in a stable beta phase and rolling out to a limited number of users. Soon, it will be available for a large number of Redmi Y3 users.
To update your Redmi smartphone with the latest build, navigate to Settings -> About phone -> System update. We’ve also added a download link for the latest package, that requires manual installation, which we don’t recommend.
