Samsung Galaxy A02 receiving Android 11 update

Samsung Galaxy A02 is finally receiving the Android 11 update, which brings One UI 3.1 skin. The smartphone was launched earlier this year with Android 10 onboard and now receiving Android 11 as the first major OS upgrade.

According to a Sammobile report, the Android 11 update is hitting Galaxy A02 users in Russia. It can be identified by the firmware version A022GDXU2BUI3. The new software update brings a host of new features and improves including the chat bubbles, improved Digital Wellbeing, a refreshed UI, permission auto-reset, new lock screen widgets, improved stock apps, and more.

Samsung has also added the September 2021 security patch which fixes over 50 system security and privacy vulnerabilities. The new OTA update is currently rolling out in Russia and will start heading to other regions in the coming days. Samsung Galaxy A02 users can manually check for the Android 11 update by navigating to Settings >> Software updates.

While Galaxy A02 is receiving Android 11, the South Korean giant is right around the corner to release the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta for Galaxy S21 series. The brand has not yet released a list of eligible Android 12 devices, however, going by its software update policy, the Galaxy A02 is likely to receive the Android 12 upgrade.
