Samsung Galaxy A50 picks up January 2022 security patch update

After releasing the January 2022 security patch to the Galaxy S10, S20 series, and Galaxy A52 5G, Samsung is sending the latest security patch update to the Galaxy A50. It is currently rolling out in Brazil and should expand to more regions in the coming days.

The January 2022 software update for Galaxy A50 is rolling out in Brazil with the firmware version A505GTUBS9CVA1. It brings the January security patch, which improves system security and privacy by fixing dozens of vulnerabilities. Also, it improves system performance, device stability, and general bug fixing.

Samsung Galaxy A50 users in Brazil are receiving the January 2022 security patch via the latest OTA update. You can manually check for new updates by navigating to Settings >> Software Updates.

Galaxy A50 was launched in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out of the box. Thanks to two major updates, the device is now running on Android 11. But, the Galaxy A50 is unlikely to receive an Android 12 update. However, it will continue to receive monthly security updates.
