Samsung Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A50s receiving August 2021 security update

Samsung Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A50s are the company’s latest Galaxy A-series phone to receive the August 2021 security patch update. The newest security patch debuted on Galaxy A52 and has now reached dozens of Galaxy phones including Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy A90 5G, Galaxy S20 FE, and more. 

According to Sammobile, the new software update for Galaxy A71 is rolling out in Spain which can be identified by firmware version A715FXXU6BUH1. On the other hand, August 2021 security update for Galaxy A50s is hitting several Asian countries including Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand. It is bundled with firmware version A507FNXXU5DUG4

The August 2021 security patch for Samsung phones fixes 40 system security and privacy-related vulnerabilities. It is a minor update for both the phones which does not bring any other changes other than just a new security patch.

Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A50s users in the specified regions have already started receiving the new update. To manually download the latest OTA update, head over to Settings >> Software updates and then tap on Download and Install. The update may take a few days to reach all units. 

Both Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A71 were launched back in 2019. The A50s came pre-installed with Android 9 Pie, while the A71 came with Android 10. Thanks to the major upgrades, both the phones are now running Android 11.
