Samsung Galaxy Fold joins Android 12 party

Samsung starts sending the stable Android 12 update to the original Galaxy Fold users in France. The rollout speed of Android 12 has more than impressive from the South Korean giant. This week, the Galaxy S10 series, S20 series, Note 20 series, and more devices started receiving the Android 12 update, which is now hitting the Galaxy Fold.

The stable Android 12 update for Galaxy devices also brings the company’s latest One UI 4.0 skin, which adds a bunch of new features and improvements, in addition to the Android 12’s features. The latest OTA update is tagged with the firmware version F900FXXU6GUL9. It also includes the December 2021 security patch that fixes dozens of system security and privacy-related vulnerabilities.

Samsung Galaxy Fold users in France might have already received a software update notification. Those who have not received it yet should manually check for new updates via Settings -> Software updates. Currently, it is rolling out in France and should make its way to other regions over the next few days, assuming that it does not include any critical bugs/issues.

Android 12 and One UI 4.0 is a major upgrade for the Galaxy devices, and therefore you can expect loads of new features and improvements. The most notable is Material You-inspired Color Palette feature, which changes the UI element colors based on the dominant color in the home screen wallpaper. Plus, you get a refreshed UI and a new privacy feature, which indicates a small icon for cameras/location/microphone in the status when any of these are being used by any app. The list of changes also includes improved dark mode, improved stock apps, and more.
