Samsung Galaxy S21 FE and A53 5G Get April Security Update

Samsung is releasing the latest April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy A53 5G smartphones in European markets. This is an incremental update which promises to bring system security and stability to the devices.

The update comes with a package weighing around 300MB. The OTA update addresses a range of vulnerabilities and bugs affecting the Android operating system and Samsung devices. Specifically, it includes patches for 1 critical and 26 high-level Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) from Google, as well as 17 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items.

The new firmware versions for the updates are:

  • Galaxy S21 FE: G990BXXS7FXD2
  • Galaxy A53 5G: A536BXXS9DXD1

The OTA update is being rolled out to the mentioned devices in the European region, and it may take up to a few days to be available for all the devices. To install the update on your Galaxy S21 FE or Galaxy A53 5G, simply follow these steps:

  • Go to your device’s Settings app.
  • Navigate to the “Software update” section.
  • Tap on “Download and install.”
