Last month, Sony announced the Android 13 upgrade for the Sony Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV, two high-end smartphones. Now, Sony is expanding the rollout for three more eligible devices as the OEM has started releasing the Android 13 update for Sony Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III, and Xperia Pro-I.
As for the details, the update will come with the firmware version 61.2.A.0.382 for Xperia 1 III and 61.2.A.0.381 for Xperia 5 III. In case you own an Xperia Pro-I, your smartphone will receive the new update with the firmware version 61.2.F.0.147. Sony has pushed the new software on three of last year’s smartphones with the November 2022 Security Patch.

Sony Xperia 1 III, 5 III, and Pro-I have become the latest Sony smartphones to receive the Android 13 update. The Android 13 update will bring support for Material You design to third-party app icons, improved cupboard, per app language option, privacy improvements, and more. Moreover, you can also expect an updated Android Security Patch in the update.
The update will also come with a slew of new features including the Live Stream from Camera View, more options in Quick Settings, Bluetooth LE Audio, support for per-app language, expanded Material You dynamic theming, and more.
How to download and install the Android 13 update for your Xperia smartphone
If you’re an Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III, or Xperia Pro-I user, you will be receiving the OTA update notification for the Android 13 update on your smartphone. If for some reason the OTA notification isn’t working on your smartphone, you can manually check for updates from Settings in some time intervals. The most important part is that you should take a backup of all the important data before you update your device and have more than 60% charge.
