Steps to fix Stuck on Initializing Update issue on Overwatch 2
Method 1: Change your region
- First, you should open Battle.net before selecting “Overwatch 2”
- Now, click on the globe icon
- After that, change to a different region
- Then, pause the update before starting it again
- Update the game once more
Method 2: Disable the “Limit download bandwidth” option
- Open Battle.net before selecting the Battle.net logo
- Choose “Settings” by going to the dropdown menu
- Select “Downloads” before disabling “Limit download bandwidth”
- Now, click on “Done” before updating Overwatch 2
Method 3: Reset the network
- Use Windows Search to search for Command Prompt
- Right-click before running the Command Prompt as an administrator
- Type “netsh int ip reset c:resetlog.txt” before pressing Enter
- Then, you should type “netsh winsock reset” before pressing Enter
- After that, type “ipconfig/flushdns” and then press Enter
- Restart your PC before opening Battle.net and then update Overwatch 2
Method 4: Disable all non-Microsoft services
- Use Windows Search, look for “msconfig”, and open it
- Choose the “Services” tab
- After that, select the “Hide all Microsoft services” option
- Now, you should Disable All and then apply OK
- Restart your PC and then open Battle.net
