The Redmi Note 7 India has been started getting the August 2020 security patch update. The device has started picking up the MIUI 11.0.3.0 India Stable ROM. The update will bump the software version number to V11.0.3.0.QFGINXM.
This is a stable built so we recommend users to update their device to this build. Just like any other Indian update, this airborne update is rolling out in India exclusively. This is a staged rollout so it may take some time to be available in all handsets.
The update brings software optimization and promises to provide a better user experience. Along with all the optimizations, it also improves the security and performance of the device. It also addresses many bugs which were reported in the previous build.
If your device is running on a Global ROM, only then you will get the update via OTA. Otherwise, you have to install it manually. The update is based on Android 10. You can manually check whether the update is available in your region or not. Go to Settings –> About Phone –> Check for Software Update.
