Verizon Motorola Moto G6 and Motorola Edge+ getting new OTA updates

Verizon has just updated Motorola Moto G6 and Motorola Edge+. Both devices have started getting the security update. The Verizon Motorola Moto G6 has received the update with software version number PDS29.118-15-11-14 while the Verizon Motorola Edge+ upgraded to version QPB30.188-48

These are incremental security updates. The update brings fixes to various bugs which were present in the previous build. It also improves the stability and performance of the device. For changelog check below.

Includes changes to address some Call Filter app issues, like Caller ID info not being shown for missed calls, the mobile number displayed twice for international calls, and number not displayed for incoming calls.

Verizon Motorola Edge+ gets June 2020 security patch with version QPB30.188-48

  • Stability Improvements: While roaming in GSM markets, this software update improves the network performance of the phone.

Manual Update Guide

So, all the excited Verizon Motorola Moto G6 and Motorola Edge+ users can manually check for the OTA update via the Settings – System – Advanced – System Updates. If available, make sure to download and install the update by using the mobile data or Wi-Fi connection.

Your device battery should be charged up to 50% approximately. As the update is rolling out in a phased process, it can take a few days to appear on all the units.
