Baldur’s Gate 3 is a world with countless characters and quests. Among them one is Dammon in Baldur’s Gate 3 which holds significance especially if we are looking to advance Karlach’s companion quest The Hellion’s Heart. Dammon’s knowledge as a skilled Blacksmith with Infernal Iron manipulation abilities is crucial because Karlach, the fiery Tiefling Barbarian needs help to repair her heart. But Dammon’s whereabouts are as dynamic as the game itself.
To embark on Karlach’s quest we need Infernal Iron which is a rare and precious resource. This resource is essential for our journey to become a friend to Karlach.
Where to find Dammon ?
Finding Dammon can be a challenge as his movements are influenced by decisions in the early stages of Baldur’s Gate 3. Dammon is associated with the Tiefling group in the Emerald Grove. If the Tieflings have left the area, Dammon will also be absent. But if the Tieflings are present, we will find Dammon near his blacksmith shop to the north of the grove close to the prison.
To progress Karlach’s quest during act 1 approach Dammon with the Infernal Iron before the Tieflings leave the Emerald Grove. Check if Dammon is available by looking at the map icon for The Hellion’s Heart quest.
Cautions
It is important to ensure Dammon survives during any conflicts in the Emerald Grove. Some players have reported that Dammon can die during these conflicts. If Dammon dies finding another smith capable of helping Karlach might take a long time in the game and also we may not find another smith. To prevent this either prevent the invasion of the Emerald Grove or advise the Tieflings to depart peacefully. This ensures we can assist Karlach’s quest throughout the game.
Meeting Dammon Again after emerald grove
If Dammon survives the events of the Emerald Grove, we can encounter him again in act 2 at the Last Light Inn. Here’s another opportunity to provide him with more Infernal Iron if missed earlier.
As Karlach’s journey unfolds, we will eventually need to locate Dammon in Baldur’s Gate itself. Prepare additional Infernal Iron before we reach this point to continue Karlach’s quest. Navigating the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 requires strategic decision making and resourcefulness. Dammon’s role in Karlach’s quest adds depth to the narrative.
