Apple has released iOS 16.0.2, which includes a fix for the camera shake bug.

Apple has started rolling out the iOS 16.0.2 update for iPhones to fix the recent shaky camera bug in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Within a few days since the launch of the iPhone 14 Series, Apple started receiving complaints from iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max users about the shaky camera when using third-party apps.

According to reports, the camera module was giving shaky and blurry images when used in third-party apps like Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat. Some users also claimed loud shaking and grinding noises coming from their device’s camera when used in a non-Apple app. Due to constant noises, the videos being recorded on the third-party apps were unusable.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have Apple’s second-gen sensor-shift image stabilization technology that supports the primary camera sensor. This technology allows stabilization at the sensor level. The shaky camera could have been caused by this image stabilization technology.  Apple was pretty quick to acknowledge this issue and provide the fix, which has started rolling out with iOS 16.0.2. update.

The update will come with fixes for other issues as well. There were complaints about the display turning completely black during the phone rebooting and the voiceover being disabled after rebooting. The update will address the copy and paste prompt, which was appearing more than expected when used between apps. It’ll also address issues in the iPhone X, iPhone 11, and iPhone XR where touch input was becoming unresponsive after display replacement.

Apple came out with the iOS 16 update for users globally on September 12th. The update was made available for iPhone 8 and above models. The update improved the lock screen and the user will be able to customize the lock screen with widgets such that they can view the recent sports results or check the weather without having to unlock the phone.
