Apple starts rolling out iOS 17.2 Beta 2 and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 2 updates

Recently, Apple rolled out a minor incremental update in the form of iOS 17.1.1 to the public. Now, Apple has started pushing the iOS 17.2 Beta 2 and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 2 to developers. The two beta updates will soon be made available to public beta testers as well.

The iOS 17.2 update will be the second major update in the iOS 17 series. In iOS 17.1, Apple included a bunch of new features and improvements, which is why the stable iOS 17.2 update is expected to be the same, if not better. With the release of the iOS 17.2 Beta 2 update, things are going as planned.

Alongside iOS 17.2 Beta 2 and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 2, Apple has also released AirPods Pro 2 firmware 6.2, watchOS 10.2 Beta 2, tvOS 17.2 Beta 2, macOS Ventura 13.6.3 RC2, and macOS Sonoma 14.2 Beta 2.

  • Added Suggestions functionality in the Journal app
  • Siri improvements for commands like altitude, ETA
  • Sensitive content warning now expands to contact posters
  • The dedicated coverage page has been moved to Settings -> General
  • The Apps and Games section in the App Store will now show categories on the top
  • Bug fixes and improvements

How to update to iOS 17.2 Beta 2 and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 2?

The iOS 17.2 Beta 2 and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 2 updates are only available to developers for now but they’ll become available to public beta testers soon. If you’ve enabled the beta updates on your eligible iPhone/iPad or already updated to the first beta, you’ll be receiving the second beta OTA update. To check for the update, you should go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
