The latest iteration of the update, the watchOS 10, has been rolled out by the Cupertino giant and it has brought in a lot of noteworthy features for its smartwatches. However, this is just one side of the coin as the update has brought in a few bugs and issues too.
Previously, Apple users were having to deal with weather complications, AOD low brightness, and screen flickering issues. Now, Apple Watch users are having to deal with another issue in the form of the Battery Drain issue. Their battery fails to last for even 6 hours, let alone last an entire day.
If you’re facing the same issue, then this guide will be helpful. In this guide, you will get to know how to fix battery drain after watchOS 10 update in Apple Watch.
How to fix battery drain after watchOS 10 update in Apple Watch
To resolve this issue, you will need to unpair and repair the Apple Watch once. While this may sound like a weird fix initially, it still works. Due to the Weather Complication/Location Services issue that has been affecting the masses, any app trying to pull location data will be stuck in a feedback loop and drain the battery.
To stop it from happening, you should either not use such apps for a while (which can be a tough pill to swallow) or unpair and re-pair the watch to stop the feedback loop from re-occuring. Another method to try would be to set your default weather city to a specific place instead of setting it to the current location.
- Open the Apple Watch app and then head over to My Watch -> All Watches
- Click on the info button beside your watch and then select “Unpair”
- Tap on Unpair Apple Watch before going to Unpair (watch name)
- Hold your iPhone near the Apple Watch
- Wait for the pairing screen to appear on your iPhone and then tap on “Continue”
- Check if the Battery Drain after watchOS 10 update issue is resolved
