Baldur’s Gate 3 is a role play game which take player on an epic journey filled with new characters and challenging quest. One of the exciting feature of the game is the ability to form a party with various companions each possessing unique abilities and personalities.
As the party size is limited to four players including the main character players must master the art of changing party members to maximize their gameplay.
How to change party members in Baldur’s Gate 3?
To change party members return to the camp where all your companions rest between adventures. Once you reach the camp, interact with the active companions currently in your party and ask them to leave. This opens up a slot for a new companion to join your ranks. Then approach any inactive companion present at the camp and invite them to join your party. This simple process allows you to switch party members and adapt your team to different challenges and quests.
But sadly there is no option to change the party members in Baldur’s Gate 3 on the spot such as by going to the main menu or dragging characters into a selection screen. You have to visit your camp in order to reorganize your party. Also to return to the campfire, Click on the campfire icon which can be found in the minimap at the top right of the screen.
Dialogue Options
When interacting with an active party member you will find a dialogue option to ask them to stay at the camp. Selecting this option will cause the companion to leave the party temporarily and wait at the campsite. But if you decide to bring back a previous companion or any other companion return to the camp and simply ask them to join.
Certain main and side quests require specific companions with unique skills and backgrounds. Flexibility in party composition can significantly impact the outcome of battles and the overall progress of the game. Also currently the party is limited to four players including the main character there is speculation that it may change in the future.
