Pixel Camera Update v9

In line with the recent updates to first-party Android apps that are focusing heavily on one-handed mode, the new Pixel Camera Update v9.2 brings in a redesigned UI to all Google Pixel smartphones. Shadow, Brightness, and White Balance controls have been shifted to the bottom-right corner. It is easy to reset the settings using the “Reset All” button on the left.

The Night Sight Time Lapse feature will allow Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users to capture stunning videos even in low-light conditions, showcasing the OEM’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography. Previously, users were able to record short time-lapse videos of around a second in Astrophotography mode. After installing the Pixel Camera Update v9.2, you will now be able to record longer Night Sight time-lapse videos.

As noted, older Pixel devices will be receiving support for Ultra HDR with this Camera Update. You’ll be able to find this option alongside “Rich color in photos” through Camera Settings -> Advanced. This update will add customization to the Palm Timer feature, where you can set it to “Always On” in addition to just having it enabled when the timer is on.

The update has gone live on Pixel 8 handsets but not on the Pixel 7a, so it might be a while until everyone gets it. Alternatively, you can even sideload the APK from a third-party website.
