  1. Open WhatsApp by going to the app drawer.
  2. Now, open the chat in which you have the messages to be deleted.
  3. You must keep in mind that you can only delete messages which you have sent in the last 7 min.
  4. Now, tap on the bin (delete) icon which you will find on top.
  5. Then you will see a popup message with three options:
  • Delete for me: The message will only be deleted for yourself. The receiver will be able to see the message.
  • Cancel: Self-understandable.
  • Delete for everyone: The message will be deleted at both ends.
  1. If you only get two options “Delete for me” and “Cancel”, it will mean that your 7-minute window has passed and you can no longer recall the message.
  2. Now, you need to select the “Delete for everyone” option so that the message gets deleted instantly.
  3. Each message will be replaced by “This message was deleted” message. That’s it!
