How to Downgrade OnePlus 8/8Pro/8T back to Android 12 from Android 13

On the flip side, the update is still in the beta stage, you’ll likely come across a few bugs and issues. Fortunately, there’s an escape route as you’ll be able to downgrade OnePlus 8 Series and OnePlus 8T from Android 13 to Android 12. In this guide, you’ll get to know exactly how you can do that.

Downgrade the OnePlus 8 Series and OnePlus 8T from Android 13 to Android 12 (European and Indian Variants)

How to Downgrade OnePlus 8/8Pro/8T back to Android 12 from Android 13

  1. Start off by downloading the downgrade firmware corresponding to your region –

Android 13 Open Beta 1 to Android 12 Downgrade Firmware

  1. After that, transfer the downloaded firmware to your smartphone’s internal storage
  2. Then, go to Settings -> About Device -> Version
  3. Tap on Build Number 7 times and then enter the password to enable the Developer Mode
  4. Head back to Settings – > About device -> Up to date
  5. Tap on the button located at the top right and then select Local Install
  6. After that, navigate to the downloaded Android 12 firmware and then select it
  7. Now, tap on Extract -> Upgrade
  8. Wait for the installation to get completed and once it’s done, tap on Restart
  9. Your OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T will be downgraded to Android 12 firmware

#2(Global and NA Variants)

  1. Start by downloading the firmware corresponding to your region by using the links mentioned above
  2. Transfer the downloaded firmware to your smartphone’s internal storage
  3. Download and install the OnePlus Downgrade APK
  4. In some instances, the app may be downloaded as a ZIP file
  5. Rename the file and remove the “.zip” from the end such that it becomes filename.apk
  6. Install the app and launch it
  7. Then, you should tap on Local Upgrade
  8. Navigate to the Android 12 firmware, select it, and then tap on Install Now
  9. Wait till the installation is complete and once it is done, tap on Restart
  10. Your OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T will be downgraded to Android 12
