Huawei recently updated Nova 5 series with April 2021 security patch and now rolling out the same security patch update to Nova 6 series phones. Although this is not the latest security patch, but it fixes a number of security vulnerabilities.
The Huawei Nova 6 series consists of 3 smartphones: Nova 6, Nova 6 5G, and Nova 6 SE. The Nova 6 SE is currently running on EMUI 10.1, while the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G are running EMUI 11.
Keeping the device updated with the latest security patch is always a good thing as it protects your device from security vulnerabilities. Therefore, it is always recommended to install the latest security patch available. The April 2021 security patch fixes 17 High levels and 69 Medium levels of CVE’s (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures).
The latest update for Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G bumps the EMUI version from 11.0.0.171 to 11.0.0.172. On the other hand, Nova 6 SE is getting the latest update as EMUI 10.1.0.234.
