August 2021 security update for Oppo A52 brings RAM expansion feature

Following Samsung and Google, Chinese manufacturer Oppo has recently started the August 2021 security patch rollout. Oppo F11 was the company’s first phone to get the newest security patch, later rolled out to Oppo Find X2. Now, Oppo A52 joins the August 2021 security update party with the new update.

The new software update for Oppo A52 can be identified by firmware version CPH2061_11_C.32. It has a download size of about 900MB. To download such a large size package, it is always recommended to have a Wi-Fi connection.

Oppo has also added RAM expansion feature in the new update. For those uninitiated, this feature takes some part of the phone’s internal storage to work as RAM. It does not give a major performance boost, but reduces app loading time and allows more processes in the background. It is also known as virtual RAM. To enable it, head to Settings >> About phone and then tap on RAM. Notably, the virtual RAM feature is only available to 128GB or higher storage model.
