Oppo Reno5 Pro+ might be the world’s first smartphone with 50MP Sony IMX7xx sensor

It’s official that, Oppo Reno5 series is going to be unveiled on December 10 in China. The company has already started taking pre-orders for the Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G through the official website. Rumours are that Oppo will also introduce a third smartphone in the Reno5 series dubbed Reno5 Pro+ but the official website has no mention of this phone. However, a reliable Chinese tipster WHYLAB has shared key details of the Reno5 Pro+.

As per his Weibo post, the Oppo Reno5 Pro+ will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset. The rear cameras will bring major improvements compared to the Reno5 Pro 5G cameras. Not only this, he claims that Oppo Reno5 Pro+ will become the World’s first smartphone with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX7xx sensor. (Here x is the unknown digit).

The primary camera will be joined with a 16-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Further, he mentions that the smartphone has a plain-leather back cover version, which is the first mass-produced model with an electrochromic back cover.
