Samsung pushes out Android 14 based One UI 6 to Galaxy S21 series

Samsung has just launched the Android 14 update for its Galaxy S21 lineup, which includes the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra models. This new update brings in One UI 6 and is the third major software upgrade for these phones, which were originally released with Android 11. The first users to get this update are in Switzerland, and soon it will be available in more European areas.

The update brings Samsung’s One UI 6 interface built on Android 14. Key new features include a refreshed Quick Settings menu, customizable lock screen clock widgets, expanded text sizing options, updated Samsung apps, and a redesigned media player.

A Twitter user with the handle Flavio1976 tweeted that he received the Android 14 update on his Samsung Galaxy S21. This was later retweeted by user tarunvats33. According to the tweets, it appears that the Android 14 rollout for the Galaxy S21 series has begun for users in Switzerland. However, it could potentially be available in other European countries too.

The update carries the build version G991BXXU9FWK2 and is approximately 2,300 MB in size. We have checked and can confirm the firmware is indeed available now. So Galaxy S21 owners, especially those located in Europe, should watch out for an Android 14 update notification soon if they haven’t already received it. It seems the rollout has been somewhat quiet but is underway for the S21, at least in select markets across the region.

The update is version G991BXXU9FWK2. To install it, go to Settings > Software Update and select Download and Install. Be sure your phone battery is at least 50% charged and back up any important data first.

The update is rolling out gradually over the next few weeks. Galaxy S21 owners can check for its availability in Software Update. This latest software brings the S21 series up to date with Android 14 capabilities and Samsung’s latest interface.
