The South Korean tech giant Samsung has started rolling out the latest March 2024 security patch update to its Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and even smartwatches in several regions. Now, Verizon pushes the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro March 2024 update in the USA region which brings the latest security patch, Samsung Health update, and even performance improvements.
That means this update also enhances the stable connectivity between the Galaxy Watch 5 series and newer generation Samsung TVs. It includes the latest security update for both the Galaxy Watch 5 (40mm) and Galaxy Watch 5 (44mm) variants in Verizon USA with the firmware version R905USQU1BXB7 and R915USQU1BXB7.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro model is receiving the latest firmware version R925USQU1BXB7. It’s also available for the locked carrier variant of the Galaxy Watch 5 on Verizon. It’s also suggested that more carrier variants will soon receive the OTA update. So, the interested users should wait for the same.
Apart from the USA region, the same update has already been pushed in other countries such as South Korea, etc. If we take a brief look at the update changelog, it consists of showing Samsung Health data on the Samsung SmartTV directly via the Galaxy Watch 5 series. By using this feature, interested users can track workout data on the TV screen in real time for a better experience.
We should say that this specific feature will only work on newer generation Samsung SmartTVs (released in 2024 or later) to connect by using the valid Samsung account on both devices. In case, you’re using the LTE carrier variant of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5/5 Pro model, you should receive the OTA update notification via the Verizon network.

- Connect your Galaxy Watch 5/5 Pro to your handset first.
- Once paired, open the Galaxy Wearable app.
- Tap on Watch Settings > Tap on Watch Software Update.
- Tap on Download and Install.
- If an update is available, it’ll be downloaded automatically.
- When prompted, tap on Update Now.
- Hit Install Now from the ‘Watch software update’ screen.
- The software update process may take several minutes to complete.
- Once done, manually reboot your smartwatch to apply changes.
