WhatsApp developers are always looking to introduce new and exciting features to the app. In the recent beta update, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature for beta testers that allows them to add multiple accounts to the popular app.
Currently, users who wish to add a second account to their device have to install a clone of WhatsApp, a feature only possible on some Android devices. Instead, the new multi-account feature that is added to the latest beta version features an account switcher.
This will help you switch between the primary account linked to the device and the secondary WhatsApp account.
WhatsApp introduces multi-account feature for Android devices
As per a new report, the Meta-owned messaging service recently released a new beta version for testers to use the multi-account feature. It is only limited to certain beta testers who have updated to WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.17.8 and can roll out to certain users over the coming weeks.
When this feature is enabled, WhatsApp will display a small downward-facing arrow icon beside the QR code in the settings menu. A card would pop up showing the primary account and an “Add Account” button. You can tap it to add an account registered on another device and recent messages will get synced to your phone.
