WhatsApp has revealed that users will be able to use WhatsApp on four different devices like a tablet, PC, or laptop, apart from their smartphone. Once you have linked your WhatsApp to multiple devices, you will be able to maintain the flow of conversations without any hassle.
This will be a handy little feature, especially when your smartphone is out of battery. If that happens, you’ll still be able to start from where you left off. The multi-device support will keep your chats synced across other different devices. As is the case with most WhatsApp features, this will also be end-to-end encrypted.
Another thing worth mentioning is that your secondary device cannot be another smartphone. This functionality is still being worked upon and could eventually be launched in the form of a companion mode.
The option to link multiple devices to a single WhatsApp number exists under the Settings menu via the Linked Devices option. This new update comes after WhatsApp introduced the latest version of its Windows client. The dedicated Windows app has received performance improvements and it loads much faster now. Moreover, it’ll also allow you to have group video calls with up to 8 participants and video calls with up to 32 participants.
