Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G launched earlier this year with Android 10 based MIUI 12 skin at the top. It was even the company’s first smartphone of this year. Now, the Mi 10i 5G is getting its first major OS update in the form of Android 11.
The update still comes with MIUI 12 skin. But, not to worry, Mi 10i 5G is eligible to receive MIUI 12.5 update. The company recently announced the list of devices for the recruitment of MIUI 12.5 closed beta and Mi 10i 5G also there in the list.
Coming back to our Android 11 update, it is rolling out in India carrying firmware version V12.0.1.0.RJSINXM. As this is a major update, you will need to download a big chunk of data, 2.5GB to be precise. So, it is recommended to download the package over a Wi-Fi connection.
In addition to the Android 11 goodies, the update bumps Android security patch level to March 2021. As usual, the update might be rolling out in batches, so it may take a while to reach your Mi 10i. You can manually check for the latest update by heading to Settings >> About phone >> System update.
