Apple starts pushing the new iOS 17.2 Beta 1 Update

Just a day after rolling out the iOS 17.1 update to the public, Apple has rolled out the iOS 17.2 Beta 1 update. As usual, the beta update is initially available to developers but it is expected to become to public beta testers soon. This isn’t surprising as Apple is known to begin beta testing of the next build quickly after releasing a public build

The journey to the second iOS 17 update beings from today. As the first beta update is available, interested users will be able to try the new features that will later become available to the public.

Apple has rolled out beta updates for other devices too. The new updates include iPadOS 17.2 Beta 1, tvOS 17.2 Beta 1, watchOS 10.2 Beta 1, macOS Ventura 13.6.2 RC, macOS Monterey 12.7.2 RC, and macOS Sonoma 14.2 Beta 1.

  • Introduces new widgets for the home screen and lock screen
  • AirPlay receiver for sharing or streaming content from Apple Vision Pro to iPhones
  • Changes made to Settings, Book, Contact Posters, and more

How to upgrade to iOS 17.2 Beta 1 update?

The iOS 17.2 Beta 1 comes with the build number 21C5029G. This is the first beta update and it’ll be a while before you can expect the release candidate and public build.

The new iOS update is available only for developers currently and it’ll soon become available to public beta testers soon. To check for the updates, you’ll be able to go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Before upgrading to the beta version, you should ensure that you take a backup of your iPhone data and have the charge at least 50%.
