Apple starts pushing the new iOS 17 Beta 7 update to developers

With the upcoming launch of the new iPhone lineup and iOS 17 public release on the horizon, Apple developers have been pushing iOS 17 beta updates every week. The OEM is working on making the firmware more stable with minimal bugs.

As a part of the process, Apple has now released the latest iOS 17 Beta 7 update to developers and iOS 17 Beta 5 update to public beta testers.

Moreover, Apple has also released iPadOS 17 Beta 7, tvOS 17 Beta 7, watchOS 10 Beta 7, macOS Sonoma 14 Beta 6, macOS Monterey 12.7 RC, and macOS Ventura 13.6 RC.

The update for Developers was released first and a few hours later, the beta update for public beta testers also went live. After this release, there could be 1-2 build builds before the release candidate build. Coming to the new features and changes of the latest iOS 17 Beta 7 update, there have been a few adjustments made.

  • The End Call has been shifted to the middle of the Keypad Screen as the last beta saw it moved from the main call screen
  • Suggest Music shortcut is replaced by a Recently Played shortcut
  • The Haptics bug on using the Mute Switch has been resolved
  • A new modern update having firmware version 2.08.02
  • Numerous small changes and bug fixes

How to check for the iOS 17 Beta 7 update?

The build number for the update will be the same for new iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 beta builds, which means it is 21A5319a. Both the developer beta and the public beta updates are of the same size but the update size could vary by device.

The iOS 17 beta 7 became available for developers first and then the 5th beta of iOS 17 also became available for public beta testers. If you’re already running the iOS 17 beta, you’ll be able to check for the update by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
