Galaxy Z Flip 5G joins August 2021 security update party

Samsung is beating every major smartphone company when it comes to software updates. It was the first to roll out the August 2021 security patch which debuted on Galaxy A52. The list now includes dozens of Galaxy phones including the Galaxy A8 (2018), Galaxy A72, Galaxy S20 FE, and now Galaxy Z Flip 5G users have started receiving the newest security update. 

According to a report from Sammobile, the new software update for Galaxy Z Flip 5G is currently rolling out in various European countries. It includes Austria, Baltic countries, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.

The new OTA update for Galaxy Z Flip 5G is bundled with firmware version F707BXXS4DUG3. August 2021 security patch for Samsung phones fixes 40 vulnerabilities to improve system security and privacy. It is just a security patch update. So, don’t expect to see any new features or performance improvements.

If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 5G user from the above-specified region, then you might have already received the new build. If you haven’t, then manually update your phone by heading to Settings >> Software updates and then tap on Download and Install. 

Samsung released the Galaxy Z Flip 5G last year with Android 10 onboard. Thanks to one major OS upgrade, it is currently running Android 11 OS with One UI 3.1 skin at the top. As per the company’s software update policy, the smartphone will also receive the next major OS upgrade, Android 12.
