The International Data Corporation, commonly known as IDC has released it’s ranking of the top five tablet PC manufacturers in the Chinese market for the first quarter of 2020.
China’s Huawei has once again beaten Apple to get the first place in the list. Interestingly, Huawei is the manufacturer which has shown growth in shipments in the list. Huawei has shipped 1.5 million tablets and hold 40.2% of the total market share (tablet industry).
The second place went to Apple. Due to the pandemic and the insufficient supply of subsequent parts, Apple shipped 1.31 million units of iPad (market share of 35.1%, down 42.5% year-on-year).
The 3rd and 4th place are taken by Xiaomi with 210,000 units of shipments and 5.5% market share and Microsoft with 120,000 Microsoft surface tablet shipments respectively.
The last one on the list is Lenovo. The company was most affected by the Covid-19 situation. It was able to ship a total of 60,000 units of tablets (1.7% market share).
