OnePlus officially begins ColorOS 12 Public Beta program for OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T users

OnePlus have confirmed that the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T have will be shifting from HydrogenOS to ColorOS in China. The designated account for the UI Public beta has finally been announced on the community and it is now open for the OnePlus users can sign up on.

OnePlus will be releasing the ColorOS 12 builds via three different channels – Closed Beta, Open Beta, and Stable. Now, a few months after the release, OnePlus has started to request signups for the Public Beta program. This Beta will be a follow-up to the earlier release. Further, both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T will be receiving different versions of ColorOS 12 depending on the needed software integration.

How to register for the ColorOS 12 Public Beta program

Before registering for the ColorOS 12 Public Beta program, you need to ensure that your OnePlus 8/OnePlus 8 Pro/OnePlus 8T is upgraded to the basic version. You can do that by heading over to the Settings -> About Phone -> Version Information -> Version Number.

  • OnePlus 8 – Hydrogen OS 11.0.14.14.IN21 – Register
  • OnePlus 8 Pro – Hydrogen OS 11.0.14.14.IN11 – Register
  • OnePlus 8T – Hydrogen OS 11.0.13.13.KB05 – Register

The Application conditions for the ColorOS 12 Public Beta program

  • You must be a holder of either OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, or OnePlus 8T
  • You are looking to experience different functions of the device and willing to try and upgrade
  • You’re capable of accepting the incompatibility and instability of the test version
  • You must use your device for over 30 hours per week
  • You must have a positive, cheerful, and optimistic attitude, looking for common ground when reserving differences
  • People who have previous experience in evaluation and ROM internal testing will be preferred
  • You should perform well on platforms like the community and have no violations
