Google has recently started rolling out the latest January 2024 Google Play System Update for eligible Pixel smartphones. The OEM is known for its valuable changes to the operating system and core elements without even pushing any major Android updates. With each patch update almost every month, Google not only fixes potential bugs or issues but also allows Pixel device users to enhance their experience in daily life.
The latest Play System Update for January 2024 has originally resolved the common bug that locked out users of the local storage on their Pixel devices after installing the previous patch. When this update went out for the first time, several Pixel device users with multiple user accounts or work profiles encountered several issues with the ‘multiple app crashes’, ‘screenshots don’t save’, ‘external storage doesn’t work properly’, etc.
Multiple affected users storm online forums because of the unstable or unusual patch update which was unexpected. But there is nothing to worry about as Google quickly acknowledged this specific issue and the fix has arrived. Though it took almost two weeks after that chaos, it’s better late than never. Multiple Google Pixel users reported on Reddit regarding the latest January 2024 Play System update on their phones.

To install this update, you can head over to the device Settings menu > Tap on Security & Privacy > Tap on System & Updates > Check for the Google Play System Update. In case, there is an update available, just go for it. If the update has already been downloaded on your Pixel handset, just reboot your device to install it immediately. This can be seen with Android 14 QPR1, QPR2, and QPR3 versions.
