Xiaomi smartphone with model number M2011K2G has been spotted on the EEC certification. The device is speculated to be the global version of Redmi K40. Last month, the Chinese version of the smartphone bearing model number M2001K2C appeared on MIIT certification. It revealed that the device has 5G connectivity.
As of now, Xiaomi has not confirmed any details regarding the launch of the Redmi K40 series. Past reports surrounding the K40 series suggest that the vanilla model may be powered by Snapdragon 7-series chipset most probably Snapdragon 775 SoC. The higher model (Redmi K40 Pro) may be powered by the Snapdragon 875 SoC.
Qualcomm will hold an event on December 1 where the company is expected to unveil Snapdragon 875 chipset. The company may also unveil a new Snapdragon 7-series SoC. Being a close partner of Qualcomm, Xiaomi could be the first to launch a smartphone with Snapdragon 875 chipset.
