Redmi Note 8 Pro starts receiving June 2021 security patch update in India. Even though it is not the latest security patch, but fixes dozens of vulnerabilities to enhances system security and privacy.
The new software update for Redmi Note 8 Pro is bundled with firmware version V12.0.6.0.QGGINXM. While several other smartphone manufacturers have rolled out July security patch to most of their phones, Xiaomi is sending the old June 2021 security patch. South Korean giant Samsung has even started rolling out the August 2021 security patch.
The new OTA update for Redmi Note 8 Pro does not bring anything other than just a new security patch. It may take a couple of days to reach all the units. You can manually check for the latest update by heading to Settings >> About phone and then check for new updates.
For those who want to manually install the update, grab the new package using the download link given below and install it properly. Do note that, we don’t recommend flashing the ROM. So, proceed at your own risk, otherwise wait for the update.
